COVID-19

Keeping you up to date on the current information regarding COVID-19 and Kinsmen Lodge. 604-588-0445

To our Families, Friends and Partners in Care:

Per the recommendations set out by Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry and the BC Ministry of Health, Kinsmen Lodge was given the much anticipated go-ahead to develop a safe visiting plan for our Elders. After careful consideration and planning with our Leadership and Infection and Prevention Control Teams, Kinsmen Lodge has developed a strategy which we believe aligns with our safety protocols for our Elders, staff and the general public.

This plan allows for ONE designated visitor per Elder. We ask that you please discuss this matter with your family unit and then decide who would ultimately be the most suitable designated person. Once this form has been completed, please contact Chris Harrison at charrison@kinsmenlodge.ca or call 604-588-0445 for next steps.

Please Note

Our Director of Recreation and Volunteer Services, Chris Harrison, will be coordinating the visitation schedule along with our Visitation Monitors. Please direct any questions regarding visitation to him at the email listed above or direct phone (604) 580-8023.

If Kinsmen Lodge experiences a COVID-19 outbreak NO visitors will be allowed.

If the designated visitor exhibits any COVID-19 symptoms, visits will be cancelled.

The Elder must remain on the Kinsmen Lodge premises at all times.

The visits will take place outside, so please plan for inclement weather.

The visits will take place around a table with a barrier shield between the Elder and the designated visitor.

All designated visitors must be screened prior to the commencement of the visit which includes a questionnaire, temperature check, proper hand washing and donning of a face mask.

The attached COVID-19 Visitation Agreement must be submitted for approval before any visitation can occur.

Protocols

Protocols regarding Essential Visitors remain unchanged and we continue to encourage Elders and their loved ones to communicate through virtual visits, telephone and/or email.

As we take these next steps and introduce the new visitation schedule, we welcome your feedback and will review and make adjustments as we move ahead. Thank you for your patience and your continued support.
